Hello again,
2001 Honda Accord 4cyl, auto trany
Since my earlier post this morning, I've done a bit more troubleshooting, via all the info gathered from various sites, regarding the tranny shifting improperly, and the engine and pc codes (now revised to PC1751 & the d4 code = definition not found - Via auto parts store code checker - but they said that it usually points to a shift solenoid probem, and the dealer, whom I called yesterday, said the same).
I've ohm tested the solenoids, and they're within specs. (good so far)
I've applied 12 volts to each, and they produce a clicking sound. (good so far)
Then, with the shift solenoid connector disconnected, I started the engine and put it in drive, and measured the volt output at / from the connector (both prongs) and got no voltage reading whatsoever, even when in drive with the RPM above 2000.
I've read many posts, here and there, but none have ever mentioned checking the output voltage from the connector to the A & B solenoids (?)
Question: Is there a fuse or relay for these solenoids? When should there be a 12 volt reading to these solenoids (idle, drive, 1000 rpm, when?) What's your opinion? thanks for helping........Horst
