I have a 97 Accord non-vtec, 5spd, 4 door. Whenever im braking "gently" the car including the steering wheel shakes - even at 30mph. If braking hard, no vibration is transferred into the cabin or steering. The following has been done to the car to try to fix it but with no luck:
- balanced all wheels (tires have no damage)
- Brand new Honda OEM rotors, pads
- checked driveshafts (OK)
- All suspension parts checked - ball joints, etc. (OK)
I am running out of money and things to change, mechanics have no clues either. Can someone help me?
Rotors were from HONDA, and rechecked - there is no vibration in the rotors or brakes, rather than the engine/tranny and drivetrain under light braking.
Could it be engine mounts?
The vibration happens irregardless of the grears or engine rpm.
i think this happened to me once and i took the car in for a full service and my problem came from the axles and brakes. ( I had other problems as well but after brakes and axles were replaced everything was fine again)

I need to go faster
I love my accord
My brakes are brand new as I have mentioned, including the OEM rotors. There is no vibration from the axles when the car is lifted up and driven in gears under load (slightly braking when the wheels are rotating). Could it be the motor mounts?
Thanks.

if the vibration occurs when the clutch is engaged, yes
also, try going downhill and use your breaks as much as you can, see if one side gets heated faster than the other one, dont overheat them though. let me know what the result is
This vibration occurs with clutch engaged or disengaged, and is more pronounced more at lower speeds (below 60mph) and is even felt at 25mph - all under light braking (hard braking does not yield any vibration).
I will try the braking test to see the bias in front brakes based on heat generation.
Anyone thinks its related to motor mounts as my front mount seem to be loose a bit, although its not phisically damaged.

i was about to say that it could be ur motor mount. look for any visible damage and shake it to see if it is loosen or not.
