Ok, this is sort of a dumb post but at the same time I am sick of paying 3 bucks for a clock bulb that only last 1-2 years in an 01 accord (second replacement). My hazard switch light last a little bit longer but each time I replace this bulb it does cost 7 bucks from my local shop.
For so long I searched and searched but was told this was a dealer only part for my vehicle so I just paid the 10 bucks a pop for both bulbs and went on with it.
I finally had a chance to stop by radio shack today and have great news, they do make a replacement for these bulbs and it only costs $ 0.80 a piece. I was able to get both bulbs for $1.59 tax included. You will have to install the bulb into the plastic screw on housing but it took me a total of 1 minute to remove the old bulb and have the new one inserted (very easy and simple). The best thing is these bulbs are made properly compared to Honda's singapore bulb factory which kept giving me short term replacement bulbs.
If anyone is also annoyed by this problem all you need to do is stop by radio shack and ask for part number 272-1092 or micro lamp # 7219. Swap out is an ease but if someone does have questions just let me know and I will post pics for any noobs. This package contains 2 bulbs and the clock bulb and hazard switch bulb are the same for accords so you only need one package.
Question though......why does honda charge 3 bucks for a clock bulb and 7 bucks for a hazard switch bulb.....they are the same bulb. I read the schematic and it says the hazard is .84 watt while the clock bulb is 1.4 watt but upon removing the old bulbs they both had the exact same model number and the only difference was the bulb housing (one is slightly wider), sounds like honda is just making more shit up these days.

while you are at it, might as well change it to LED like mine
LED > Helogen bulbs for interior
but thanks for the info that some would find useful
but i find it completely useless
well, you know how OEM and factory shit goes, it's more expencive then popboy's and auto zone stuff.
one more tip. if you have bit of time in your hands, go to a loca junk yard where you enter and rip out your own stuff, and walk around and pull out all the light bulb sockets and little things you need, the most expencive entry would be $2 at most, and just exit and tell them didn't find shit.
I was going to go for an led conversion for these two bulbs but the math wasn't coming out well with any of the 100 led's radio shack had in stock. I mean I could have gotten pretty close to what energy the two units were putting out but either way I would still be way outta rang for the 10% tolerance and would hate to make soldered connection without any guarantee the led's would be able to handle the energy correctly for prolonged periods.
What Led's did you use for these two spots? I know how to swap out the middle console to led's but could not find any local shops with Led's for this application?

I ordered my LED's on eBay. 100 5000mcd hyper white LED's in 5mm form with correct current resistors for 12v applications, such as computer and cars.
all the interior light bulbs take 12V, so for that being said...I have powered up to 20 LED's at same time for about 3 mights with out problem, as I was testing it out and see how many it can be powered up, and it was golden. from one power source that is. so it is true that LED's hate about 1/20th power of what helogen and lasts uber long time. so let it be
you have to wadge your own stuff together.
here is very clear detailed DIY for it. although these guys sell their stuff, but they do have the DIY's up.
just to let you know, that's how i got my hands on my ride with LED's and such.
and our very own member/mod, illuzion's car is used in that DIY. as his friend "nick" who owns that server, they test retrofitted thoe LED's in his old Accord. so we are looking at illuzion's old car for that DIY

but it is a good tip, because if you are anything like me, i am always making new LED's and such, so i have usually 10 extra bulb sockets that i have empty for LED's to go into, and well, i sold couple actually.
and if you wanted to do this, then you'll be getting ass raped by the dealers.
so it's got to be the best tip ebar!
