Question 98 Accord Sedan LX Front Bumper

My car finally went into the shop (I hit a Lincoln and didn't come out on top and then a lady rearended me). When I examined my car a long time ago I saw that the front emblem attached to a piece that was seperated from the bumper that then attached behind the bumper onto the frame or something like that. When I called up the autobody shop thats fixing it up and talked to the manager he said that the emblem assembly was attached to the front bumper and that there would be some holes but he would double check. I thought that kind of assembly only existed on the 2000+ models where the emblem goes right onto the front bumper? I'm asking because I am going to shave all the emblems and don't want to kit the car... so I want to know if I can shave the front emblem or not!

Thanks for the help,

-hoka (everybody hates the fast turn siggies, I love it!)

you can take that whole little boxy thing off that holds the emblem. the only problem is that when you take it off, on the parts that go across the grill there will be a cut-out. it wont go stright across. tell them to take it off and paint the bumper with it off them paint the box thing then you'll be able to take it off if you want or leave it on. its just 2 little screws that r hard to get to but you can get to them without taking the bumper off

a couple of simple mods (razor, sandpaper, some paint) , you should be able to clean the front up. To remove the front grill.... you can check out www.accordcompany.com they show how to turn it to a type-r grill.

Too bad that grill is just for the coupes, since the sedans don't have a removable grill.
