Balance shafts

A friend of mine is replacing the balance shaft seal on his 1993 Accord F22. When he took the balance shaft belt off, he didn't mark the locations for both the front and rear balance shafts. Also when he tried removing the seal for the front balance shaft, it went in further and he is having trouble removing it.

What negative effects will not marking the locations for the balance shafts have as well what are some ideas for removing the seal the got pushed in further?

If they are not realigned it will vibrate.

THe front one is easy. THere is a mark on the oil pump housing. Make sure the cog mark lines up. THe one on the back has a mark too, its harder to see and understand. Go to the Haynes manual; they show how to line up on reinstallation. You can leave the frigging belt off and get a little horsepower and a little vibration; see Kaisenspeed.com for kit.
