What is everyone using? I've been using trico neoform beam blades for years and they're awesome. Been getting them at wipers123 online and they update me periodically on how old they are which is a nice extra. Smooth, quiet, clean... Wondering if there's anything new I should be taking a look at before I buy new wipers for my entire 4 vehicle fleet!
Rainx. Latitudes. Or valvoline has a pair of supers just like the Rainx style(blades) which are good. I found some at biglots for 4 dollars a blade once. Score
I often wonder what kind of rubber compound people make their blades out of.
Neoprene or epdm based rubbers probably, but the epdm rubber lasts longer.
I like to have my windshield rainx'd to the max though. It truly is a product that works wonders. Fogx isn't that cool though.
I love glass treatment too, but I don't use rain-x. I use aquapel which is a commercial product that detailers use. The beauty is that each application lasts 6 months which really plays to my laziness. I've been using it for over 2 years and I have to say it works almost as well at month-6 as it does day-1.
As far as rubber...I have no idea. I do know the neoforms have "teflon surface protectant infused natural rubber" - lol - which I thought was a complete sales pitch but I have to honestly say I think that it works to keep them smooth.
There are many types of rubber wiper blades used in vehicles such as standard type, flat, spoiler type, specific fit type blades. I use flat type wiper blades in my car because it reduces wind noise and also provides less barrier to the driver's field of vision. It gives longer life span too that shows the durability.
You forgot to mention winter blades. I'm still a trico neoform / wipers123 guy but late last season I tried the trico ice beam blade winter wipers. They are AWESOME winter wiper blades. They're beam style rather than the old school booted metal winter wipers and are relatively low profile. They rocked the WI winter last winter. I highly recommend.
