I have a quick question will my 4th gen accord axles be strong enough to handle the extra power of the h22a.... and by chance does any body know how much heavier it is than an f22.
OK I have a h22a4 engine however im thinking of doing a tranny swap because i have a automatic ... do you think i would be better just going with the basic prelude tranny or the f22 ??? In the future i plan to do some NOS, and TUrbo ... so which one would be better plus more reliable?
not sure about mounts, i think you use accord mounts, i know its accord for a 90-93. www.h22a.org has a good walkthrough.
i ordered my h22's from www.jdmclub.com
Yeah i ve seen a guy at bandimiere (the drag strip near denver) which is higher altitude than even denver is and ran a 15.58. And fact is 4th gen accords like mine (four door in fact) are lighter than the newer prelude sh's.
Ive got a 99 Accord Dx. Its got an f23 engine with 135 hp. I can get the h22a with tyranny, swap, and tyranny install for 4400. Thats 2400 for engine, 1000 for engine swap, and 1000 for tyranny switch from automatic to 5spd. Thats basically 4400 for 64 more hp. But afterwards i can get a drag style turbo t3/t4 for 3,200 and install for 600. So thats around $8200 total. With forged pistons and rods and some other parts i could push 500 hp, but once again thats $8200 not includeing any other parts.
I would much rather get the h22a tyranny swapp and get a t3/t4 turbo charge for the f23. That would be alot cheaper.
Im wondering if u can get 150-200 hp+ from a t3/t4 turbocharge for an f23.. anyone know where?
there as a guy that was putting down 250 to teh wheels with a built block....featured in Honda Tuning a while back. he had a tuned manifold for improved spool up, and ran 10:1 compression...obviously he spent a LOT on tuning. the thing that i think an h22 holds over teh f22 in every form is less sacrifice of top end for low end and vice versa. vtec and dohc allow for a better high end with a better low end. a turbo will take a lot of that balance out though...then it gets down to how much you spend on machine work to build the engine, and make the head flow better.
