Hi, I had some issues with my 2000 Honda Accord clunking going over bumps (has high mileage and Im a second hand owner), so I got new struts installed, sway bar links/bushings, and Upper Ball Joint Assembly/Arm. The Suspension was good for about a week then it gradually stopped absorbing bumps in the road and about a month later was nearly the same as the original 13 year old Suspension I had.
Was told to get "New Ball Joints and Lower Control Arms" and that may improve the new struts, being old parts and new parts together can make problems still exist.
So I bought them, anyway, repairs got delayed awhile and I was just looking online and noticed "Front Suspension Control Arms" which is like a straight bar with 2 bushings on each end!?!?
NOW Im wondering if the Big Bulky "Lower Control Arms" I bought are the wrong parts being I'm seeing "Suspension Control Arms" now!?!?
I have a "2 door (Coupe) EX model", wondering if the "Suspension Arms" are for 4 door sedans being no one mentioned them at the parts store as an option.
Had no clue their were 2 different types of Front Lower Control Arms for every side , should I return the Main Lower Control arms and get the skinny bar type "Suspension Control Arms" for my purpose of trying to make my suspension better?
Also, My Mechanic friend went to do the job then realized the CV Axles have to be removed and a special Honda "Decompressing" type tool has to be used to remove the old ball joints and said its gonna be a major job compared to what he was expecting, due to having to remove other parts to do the job (Labor Price increased so I delayed the job shortly). Very Confused on this matter of which type of control arm goes hand in hand/connects with the Lower Ball Joints and is most important for suspension's well being??
NEED ADVICE, Please Chime In Anything that you know on this subject. Losing Sleep over this issue after seeing them on the Parts list at "PartsGeek"
