Question about AEM CAI

Im going to get an AEM CAI for my 96 cord and since its the monsoon season here in florida, im going to get a bypass valve. I know what it does, but i dont know how it does it......can someone explain how it stops the water from hydrolocking up my engine?

when water goes in, it drains out of the bypass valve... what the thing does is like if theres a change in pressure, like when water is in, the pressure is higher, then the water will seap out of the vavle before entering the throttle body... i took mine off cuz it has to be like at least 1 foot of rain for the intake to be submerged in water.

Uhhh, no...the vacuum effect will cause the air to be drawn in through the by-pass valve, creating a drop in pressure which releases the vacuum, causing no more air to be drawn in through the intake, only through the openings in the valve.
