for starters try using some felt or some "clothy" type of material and place it over the whole inner part of the rear deck under the cover...... Most of the rattling is the stapping of the cardboard material ( cover) onto the metal. Also placing dynamat around the speaker holes would do pretty good
I'd love to do that, but do you know what kind of a pain in the ahole the rear shelf is on a 6th gen civic I hate the interior in these cars, looks good, but dayyyyyyyyymmmn what bitch it is to work on the cars, run wires for amps and shit...
a cheaper alternative to the real dynamat is commercial weatherstriping....... Its pretty much the same stuff and you can get a huge roll of it for a few bucks verses the dynamat or its equivilent
I put two boss audio competition 6X9's in my accord and put 500 watts on each of them, and its louder than 2 twelves. This works great because you dont have nearly as much rattling as a sub and by just putting dynamat under the speaker housing, my trunk rattles very little, and is unnoticable on the inside.

louder then 2 twelves... hardly... what kinda twelves r we talking about?
i doubt ur 6x9s hit or vibrate like any sub should
