Reverse guage wiring, HELP!!!!

Ok, I just bought some Reverse Indiglo Guages and they look cool, but it would be really awsome if i knew where to wire them into, i have my ground going to my body, but where should i put the posi wire? i tried to attach it to the end of a light that i have for my pedal area, and it was REALLY dim, and i know it isnt suppost to look like that, so if anyone could help me out with this... and also, i wanted to make it so when i turn on my parking lights it would turn on my guages, is this possible? thanks for any help you guys can provide...

You want to connect your indiglos to the dash lighting circuit. It's perfect cause your dash lights up exactly when you want your indi's to - when your parking or full lights are on, but not when your brights flash.

Pop out the dash lighting dimmer switch and just splice into the wires going into the clip in the back of it. Make sure the red wire of your indiglos splices to the dash wire that doesn't pass through the dash dimming potentiometer. That way you will be able to dim your indiglos and dash independently - just for more lighting options.

If you have a voltmeter it helps - otherwise trial and error isn't a bad way to go as long as you cover up any exposed copper you leave behind.

Hope that helps.

i just installed my second set of indiglos. I've got a set on my car. I did the install on my gfs 95 teg. You should already have a brightness and color change dial/button that's attached to the indiglo gauges. If you attach your power line for your gauges to your dimmer swith then what's the point of using the brightness button, dial that was given with it. Here's what to do.

Pull the gauge cluster and look at the back of it. There should be 2 or 3 big plugs (on my 99 Si and my gfs 95 teg the plugs are blue) that are attached to the cluster. Locate the biggest plug. It should be in the center of the cluster. Perhaps its plugged in at the top. Look for a red wire with a little green stripe on it. Maybe it'll be red with a gray stripe. It could be different for each car.

Turn your headlights on. Stick your positive wire into the top of where that little red wire attaches. You'll have space to slide it in above the little red on. You'll do this just to test the gauges and see if they get power. If the gauges light up then leave the positive wire there and test to see if they turn off when you turn off your headlights and parking lights. If they do then just for certain put the positive wire into some other red wire spot on the same plug and see if the gauges turn on when you have your lights on. Make sure your ground is firmly attached.

This will allow you to identfy the right wire. Once you do that (if you have confidence) splice into the wire away from the plug and soder it on there and cover it with electrical tape. If you don't know how to soder make sure you wrap your positive wire onto the power wire and throw some electrical tape on it and make sure its on there and not going to move.

This will get you all squared away. Its really easier to do than you might think. I'm not electrically inclined, but the first time I did this it only took me about an hour and a half to do the complete install and electrical wiring part. Just go slow. You can do it.
