When I'm going down a hill and let off the gas sometimes the rpm's bounce up and down between 1500-2000. The car doesn't always do this when I let off the gas going down a hill, but when it does it seems to jerk after I give it a bit of gas. It has a automatic tranny (fluid changed last year) that slips a little bit between 1st and 2nd. I know those transmissions aren't the strongest but you think by the last year of the 5th generation they would have built them stronger. No CEL either, could clogged egr ports be causing this?? or possibly the IACV? The car only has 137,xxx km's on it. Thanks
If you had a turbo car I'd say check your vacuum lines because those are symptoms of a boost leak/vacuum problem. I'm assuming you have a couple lines for emissions so check those because they may be fouled up. Worst case scenario you have a sensor that is dying on you, also check your throttle cable for slack as well as your throttlebody for movement, it may already have buildup causing the plate to stick a bit.
good to hear, just be weary of it. even though you clean it out it easier to get fouled again. if it starts happening again in 4-5 months just replace it.
