AT trany clunks when it's cold?

my 94 accord EX AT tranny always give me big clunk when i shift from P to D4 in the morning or afternoon when i'm off from work. basically it clunks big time when i move the shift gear to D4 when the ride hasn't warmed up yet...

however, it wasn't like that though.... it used to just adjust the rpm to lower level and started to change the gear to D4 automatically but now days, it just keeps up at the high RPM(when the car hasn't warmed up yet) and changes the gear and the tranny clunks....

what would be the problem? try to change the tranny oil?

i had this problem on my car before i did a tranny swap to manual...i had never changed the tranny oil, so that might be the case. how many miles have you gone between changes? i changed the tranny oil on my stick just recently and the gears go in fine now. oh yeah, are you just having problems w/ the clunk? or is the tranny slipping too?

do you mean like it clunks when you shift it out of park? or when it shift into drive. If its out of park maybe dont let it park on the tranni. Pull the ebrake before putting into park.
