Hello all,
I'm working on my friends 2003 honda accord v6.
The car had been sitting for about 5 months. He finally brought it to me for water pump and timing belt. We did that and fired it up. Idles fine but as you start to drive it the check engine light starts flashing and it throughs misfire codes for all cylinders but no other codes.
If you get the rpm up to 3k and hold it there while driving the flashing stops and the CEL goes away or goes to solid. But as soon as you flucuate the RPM below 3k or hard acceleration it starts flashing again. I did replace the plugs with iridium (but i couldn't get NGK the shop didn't have 6 availble) so i got autolight iridium plugs which the store said were OE.
So i'm not sure how to go about diagnosing this. Did we get some bad fuel? Do i need to get some NGK plugs? Do i need to run some injector cleaner?
Or is there an update that needs done to the computer?
Any advise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
