I'm doing a transmission swap and I'm trying to disconnect the VSS from my 91 Accord transmission, but when I try to pull it up out of the transmission, it won't budge. Is it supposed to just lift out once unbolted? My Chiltons Manual mentions not to disconnect the vacuum hoses, but maybe this is what is keeping it from pulling up out of the transmission. Is there something wrong with taking off the hoses from the VSS to then pull it out of there? I imagine that I would need to do this anyway if replacing a VSS, so I'm just not sure why my Chiltons is saying not to disconnect those vacuum hoses.
