Weird idling at stop lights.

Every once in a while when im stoped at a light my rpm's start jumping from 1000-1500 to 500 and then back up,down,up etc.
It didnt start doing this until after i connected my ac compressor to the battery, dirrectly.
It killed my battery real quick so i dissconected it the next day.
Any suggestions?
It really erritates me..

Does it still do that since you disconnected the compressor from the battery.

Could be because when you turn on your a/c when its hooked up normally, the car automatically increases the idle.
But, since you rigged the compressor to always be on, the car has the extra drain of the compressor, which it doesnt think is on, but it.
It also drained your battery because you left the electromagnetic clutch engaged, thats all running power to the compressor does, and it drained your battery.

I agree. I wonder though if that should light the check engine light? This happened to a GrandAm I once had and the light would come on. I'd change it anyhow, it's only abour $19.

weird idle

IF You put on an intake or have dissconnected the coolent line that runs throgh the throttle body the cold start valve is in there and over time starts to stick. Also check for any vaccum leaks,?

Good luck,

I hade the same problem is my 92 prelude. that my Bro Rolled!!.
