cold weather... no?

im guessing these bad boys dont run so good in cold weather? i was out trying to tune mine tonight, first it was a bitch to start, and i have to richen up the mixture A LOT, and it seemed sluggish. can all this be attributed to the cold weather im running it in?

also i was diddling with the idle and low speed mixture screws and accidently loosened both of them too much.. basically i just turned opened the throttle until i was able to screw the idle back in and i just pushed the low speed screw in until those two things inside the carb met and i tightened it.. im assuming i did this right? because the car does run now lol

your instruction manual should have the instructions on where to set the screws as a basic tune..then you would tune it yourself from there....as far as cold weather...i think it does make them more finicky...but I live in so cal and haven't noticed much of a difference. so cal weather > all

mine ran in the winter, but it was a little harder to start and to tune, but the cold air seemed to make it run like a raped ape. that's when i wish my carb had the fine tune adjusters like my os airplane engines.

Cold motors are harder to start...this changes a lot of things for one in the air fuel ratio. As well the motor needs a little heat so its easier to start. The motor runs off heat through the glow-plug...so when there is less its harder for it to run.

Simple fix , get a heat gun or hair dryer and warm the heat-sink up inside then step outside quickly and start the sucker up.

they need engineblock heaters like for diesels, lmao
