Ebay R/C cars
Many of you may have heard that ebay R/C cars suck. Well I disregarded what I heard about them and bought one. People say "they suck" "they are cheap" and "they break easy" but they are wrong.I bought a Smartech Winner Pro nitro with a 2 speed for a very good price of $160 with car and radio. Fist thing I noticed when I opened it was the appearance looks very nice and clean. It looks just as good as all of those 500 and up cars and runs just like them (i had one before). The engine on them is very reliable, easy to tune, and starts in 1 or 2 pulls everytime and it flat out hauls ass with the 2 speed. People also said that the chassis were weak but mine has yet to break even after accidentally flipping it twice hitting a curb and hitting big rock, cracks etc. So if you are planning on buying a good, cheap nitro RC, then I would recommend this car. I have had cars from traxxas, HPI, and team trinity, and this one if just as good for less than half the price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...961350739&rd=1

I think you would be better off buying a used name brand car. Also you can tune them and try setups. While yours is pretty much on its own. Even getting new shocks is not doable since they dont have ones made for your height im sure.
But hey if your happy, thats cool. I would think its better to buy a used one if money is an issue.

Mountain bikes are easy. You can be a pro racer and probably easily develop something.
As for R/C cars. Thats like F1. You cant just jump into it. You have to have bad ass drivers , bad ass factories and bad ass engineering.
Same with cars. Do you think kia (killed in action) cars are good. Heck no and they have been around awhile already.
Heck it seems a lot of cars dont get things right these days. Except for Honda and a few others of the high quality jap imports. At least price wise what they can do for you. Which is what most average non-millionaire people live by.
In any event. Why short change yourself? Just do some good hunting and get yourself a proven car.
Trust me I had a ghetto mobile and I was like wee this is great. After getting a true racer and feeling what its like to handle turns correctly. Its not only more satisfying. But its also more engaging , easier , more competive and upgradable. You basically could never race an ebay car....without getting completely owned.
Unless your like the best driver in the world. Which Ill bet someone on that track will be pretty damn good and with the car you could have had and will be putting it to you like your in a toys r us special.

You should, I just ran mine today next to my friends car and it hit 55mph, so they are not lying about the speed.

So if something breaks you're pretty much fucked? I would get one of these if there was a way to get replacement parts...which I am sure these types of things need.

Ok. Just an update. I got another Nitro Touring vehicle. Im going insane lately with these things....but im selling it as well.
I just bought a mint condition HPI R40 , with no joke "THE FASTEST .12 MOTOR YOU CAN HAVE." Guess how much, $225 total.
Not only is it the badass r40, it also came with a brand new awesome drifter body , has tons of extras mods and the car came with tons of spare parts.
I can probably break everything. And wont have to pay another dollar. All I have to add is a reciever and I need to get a nice header and pipe for this rear exhaust monster and off I go.
But with that. I now have the nations #1 car and #1 engine for the 1/10th touring car market. Its actually the exact setup HARA used. Reason why im saying its #1 car and engine. Cause he went and won with this exact setup.
Kinda makes you think about the used car market. You just gotta look around. Also the motor has had half a gallon run through it. Once I go through another gallon which will be probably in 2 years. Ill then go and get a new piston and sleeve and this thing will keep on running.
As for all the ebay stuff. Who knows the quality of even those motors. I had some junk motors in my day and they certaintly didnt seem to last long , as well you ask a lot of them. With this ultra powerful powerplant I just got. I probably wont even get anywhere near running this thing full tilt. It wont have too.

It depends what you're into for R/C'ing. I just picked up a tower hobbies cheapy nitro truck for my son and it's great, tower has replacement parts for it so it's no worries, but no real avenue for upgrades on it, evn though it comes with a decent futaba radio set, oil filled shocks, bearings, and it's pretty well built, not shabby for $200
Personally I find the name brand cars are a much better way to go in the long run though. As your skills progress you can tweak then to keep up with you. I started out with a bone stock T-maxx and now the only original thing in it is the main pan, I've upgraded or broke everything else(still using stock rims, on third set of tires, but I'm changing to beadlock rims when these tires go). I'm runnning a Werk Racing Picco P2 .21(freaking expensive for the mild performance gain) with robinson diffs, robinson tranny gears with forward only, steel robinson spur gear, front rear and center CVDs, and all kinds of other goodies, I'm now looking for a .26 or larger engine As my skills progressed I slowly built the truck up. My RC10GT is the same way, some parts I broke, some parts I felt I needed to upgrade. My mini-t was a little different, I took it out of the box, realized it blew pole, and went out and immediately pissed $500 on it, now it'is an insane monster with a mamba 6800kv brushless with 3S lipo, and pretty much every upgrade possible for it, it's faster than my Maxx lol. I'm looking at either a Revo, TNX or Trinity Spyder next
If you think you'll be content with it out of the box, then the cheaper ones are fine, it's just real hard to find stuff for it in the long run.
Oh a pic of the H2s
