i thought superchargers ran off the belts...to me in that picture it looks more like an intercolled turbo...the one pic on that site on teh sub part that says rc supercharger is a supercharger...this definitly is a turbo
also what is that big white block down by the filter and where is that hose that leads to it coming from?

For the size of this, the engine, and the complexity of the size of the supercharger, also with it having one piston, i cannot see this making much power at all. But i still want one
And i saw a intercooled turbo like 4 years ago
For those of you who wish you had nitrous on your r/c car attention
NX makes a kit for you!

the picture mike posted was the one i meant about turbo...it is not near the belts, has teh intercooler, and is set up exactly like a turbo...hence why i said its a turbo but he said supercharger, i was just correcting him

its a supercharger... if you look right under it, youll see the drive gears... theres a belt that attaches the s/c to drive axle of the motor...
i think it would be impossible to build a turbo that small... think of how small the compressor and exhaust wheel would be... and how would you keep the turbo oiled and cooled... what about the bov and wastegate... lol could you imagin hearing a mini bov... lol
i thought about this at one point... you could use little rubber discs that were tuned to a psi... once the psi was achived the little rubber flap would open releasing the pressure...
i wonder if theres any noise from that mini s/c... probley not eh... too small to hear anything off that tuned pipe
edit: i wonder if that little tube comming from the front of the car is supposed to be some sort of cai...

....why? The price it would take to do such a project you could spend on building up the motor and lightening up the car to the point where it would be just as fast if not faster as the S/C or Turbo set ups. Remember in RC your car can only go as fast as you can drive it and the cars can only take so much. Arent the .15 and .21 kits enough power for you? Many nitro tourers come stock to hit the 50's and 60's with no mods just a stock RTR vehicle. Now if you mod that and put work into it you can easily ht 70's and 80's.

Lightening your car costs nothing if you own a dremel And you can't really modify r/c cars to the extreme of regular cars, and the superchargers aren't that expenseive, cost a little less than most engines actually.
http://rbinnovations.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/21
And don't forget the bling factor, at a car show you could have a replica of your car right down to the supercharger

Because, in a RC 2-stroke engine, the intake and exhaust are open at the same time for most of the stroke. So you would just blow the extra boost out the exhaust port.
