what do u guys recomend as a nitro monster truck? i was thinking of gettin a used tmaxx just cuz i dont have the money for a revo, i dont even have the money for the tmaxx yet....or i was thinking monster gt but i dunno what i should get 1/8th or 1/10th

give me some ideas...or i migth get onroad, sicne i have an offroad already...jst giveme some suggestiosn on what cars u would reccomend, i am not a big fan of traxxas but i would get a tmaxx...but if i were to go onroad i was thinking a tc3?

Thats the hot bodies GT. Its basically a sweet HPI SAVAGE. At least thats what I hear. I know hot bodies and hpi are very closely together. Not sure what connects them but they almost makes cars off each other or support one another sometimes.

Its weird. But yeah I heard hara kicks butt in this thing actually. I hadnt heard he was good in off-road or even did monster truck class.

Theres also the losi LST. Its pretty sweet.

Other than that if you cant get the revo, I probably wouldnt get a used t-maxx unless you knew what a new one drives like and you were able to test the one your buying.

The lst can be found for $300-400. New.

by monster gt i mean the associated monster truck sometimes referred to as the mgt

anyways, i am tryign to get a job now and dont knwo if i really want a new truck just yet, i woudl liek to but i dotn have all teh time to play and i am really trying to get my own car anyways....i do like the lst, where can u find it for 300-400 new? isnt it liek 500 in stores?

Well I figure no one else is going to answer. But I know quite a few trucks. I just dont like the t-maxx. Its a money pit. The losi has the super shock setup. I heard thats pretty good.

I love losi and most everything they make is race bred.

Dont get a revo, Go Savage, Losi or used Tmaxx with upgrades, because it will be a money pit untill you upgrade control arms, bulkheads, diffs, and tranny.I got my Tmaxx from a friend with a new revo motor, new 2spd tranny w/ reverse, integgy pigiback shocks, full allum skidplates, high torque servo's,recharble battery pack, 2 sets of wheels (one is sportmax which kick ass) 2 bodies and a Jr Xr3i controller for $250. This thing can beet my brother revo and my friends Savage with ease, I upgraded the control arms and shock towers to RPM's and now I can bash on this thing for hours.

I'd go with an LST or Savage or possibly a trinity spider(expensive). I have both a T-Maxx and Revo, and they are each relatively nice, but I have friends with the first one's I mentioned, and they are far easier to maintain, and are very modable. The Spider and LST are fantastic trucks out of the box, but the savage can EASILY be made into a formidable monster. I break tons of stuff on both of my traxxas monsters, even when they were stock, stuff broke just to spite me. I thought I'd give them one more chance when I bought the revo, but I'll never buy another traxxas product again, just too weak overall.

The new 4.6 savage I hear is a beast. I believe you need to build it and add your own equipment which if you want the good stuff and just pay a little more than an RTR then thats the way to go.

ye ai ahve loved the lst since i heard about it...i always wanted a losi, but the xxx-nt rtr was a little to high priced for me, teh gt was lower and fine for me at the time....if i can get a decent deal over the summer on a used lst i think i will jump on it...it comes with that sick radio rtr and its pretty nice...hwo is it compared to teh savage in the bashing way...i hear savages are insane and hard to break

I'd say the LST and Savage are on par for breaking things from what I gather. It doesn't matter what you're driving, if you bash hard enough it will break.

i am srtongly in favor of the cen genesis...nwo once i start a job within the next week or two hopefully...i will definitly save up for one...should take me about a month...unless i find an actual car i want instead

Ok ive come across the monster truck of them all.

Hot Bodies Lightning Pro.

I found it by reading my new rc mag and checked out what was winning in the monster truck class. Funny enough HARA is the driver.

But it also came in second with another driver.

Third was the mugen mbx-5 T.

Now those are some sweet trucks. I never even knew mugen made a truck....but yeah everything mugen makes is pretty damn sweet.

One of my buddies has a Lighting GT and it's a pretty sweet truck, definately better than a T-maxx out of the box, but still not the quickest thing around.

I wish I've seen a Genesis first hand, but from the videos of it, and the specs it looks like a complete monster, it's biggest downside is it's aftermarket support, there isn't much to speak of, but with all of the goodies it comes with stock, it doesn't look like it needs a whole lot, and 5 freaking HP is NUTS. I've read quit a few threads and reviews of the genesis there aren't many problems with them. Although some of the earlier gens had a few bugs(they are on generation 3 right now) That has all of the latest bug fixes and the least problem reports. The biggest problems I have seen are screws backing out from lack of thread lock, but I make a habit of taking apart every RC I buy and thread locking any metal unions just to make sure. Also a lot of people note the genesis isn't tuned for high speed out of the box, it will do 50 top speed, but it's down low and mid range torque is insane.

I've seen good arguments of the genesis versus T-maxx price wise

Yeah the GT is I guess more of the base model. There are a few versions. The lightning is 100 more but im guessing its much more of a pro kit. But its still RTR which is also cool.

hto bodies arent bad...but i'm not really into it for racing...i think having a truck as big as and powerful as teh genesis will be quite fun...especially when a friend of mine comes over with his nitro rustler...he had the .15 rustler and spent well over 500 dollars just to get the 2.5 new radio gear...and a bunch of little stuff

well if i get the genesis it will out run his rustler and run him over doing it...lol

it just looks like a really sick truck...and i always wanted a monster truck, but not big on the racing scene
