Whats your favorite Nitro Fuel Brand.
Iam going to be getting some new nitro fuel. The old stuff is getting way too old. Im suprised it even runs anymore. Blue Thunder 20%.
I want to get something different. Im sure there is much better, what is your favorite. What have you tried.

O'donnel race fuels...Proven time and time again, championships, nationals, this stuff has won everywhere. 20% Is a good range to be in. %30 percent should only be run once in while mainly during a race stituation but just for bashing 20% works great.

Blue Thunder 20% is really good fuel. Trust me, I have used A LOT of different fuels and that is one of the best for the money.

I just got my new fuel. Odonnel 20%. Only thing with it, is its pretty much clear. So its hard to see whats going on.
But it runs good. Seems to stay pretty cool. Starts up pretty easy, good power and smoke. Been tuning the engine and getting it down each day.
Im pretty sure the blue thunder I was using was about shot cause the needle must of been super rich. I keep turning it lean and just got to around 240 degrees. Which is about right. The low-end is a bit boggy so im going to take that back a bit.
But im pretty happy. This fuel was more exspensive than the rest though. 26 dollars vs like 24 for blue thunder. It sucks though there is so much fuel to choose from.
Also odonnels smells a bit different. Like it has an extra smell along with the nitro. But yeah blue thunder smelt pretty good. Basically just a pure nitro smell. Odonnel is cool too though. Maybe doesnt seem as toxic as the blue thunder. Like I can stick around the car more and not get bad fumes in the face....might be luck though.

Well a little update. The odonnel is working great, car is starting up nice. Maybe even better than before? Who knows its been so long.
The only problem I see with the odonnel is it stains things yellow...and its happening pretty quickly. Fuel Tubing and other stuff. Like stickers on the body.
This could have been from just time, but I swore they werent like this a bit ago.
And of course the fact its hard to see. Another weird thing though it turns really really dark yellow once it sits around for awhile. So youll goto dump in some gas and think damn....lots of exhaust got through or something. Then check the fuel bottle and lots of dark everywhere.
It dissapears once new fuel hits it.
All in all I like odonnel. But will try more fuels down the road....which could be a year or so. LOL. I dont use tons of fuel....but have been running quite a bit lately.

I've been running the traxxas fuel since they recommend it, i wonder if my trx2.5 would overheat with any other brand of fuel? It could be a marketing gimmick to make me spend even more money on them... hmm...

I ran traxxas fuel. I thought it was the worst I tried so far. I just had tons of problems with it. Might not of been the fuel. But as soon as I went to blue thunder things were just a lot easier & faster it seemed.

Some people have thoughts on changing fuels on an engine. Basically they say the engine is coated in those certain types of oils and mixing in a new one can have adverse effects or wont remove right or wont do this. And without a rebuild, dont do it.
I dont believe it, I believe it might do something....but will transfer over...maybe the first tank or two itll be weird. Which reminds me my gas tank has a filter and it was blue and is now yellow after a few runs of changing out fuels.
Ive also tried getting the blue coloring off my filters and it wont come out. So it seems it does stick.
But yeah the gases are pretty different. All of them set out to do different stuff. Some have anti-foam properties, some have more oil. Some have different types... I wish someone would do a shootout cause its almost too overwhelming...

Well thats also the thing that erks me. How can you tell what fuel is better when you cant swap back and forth from one tank to the next....
On my os motor , it seems to be fine. I think its all bs...but hey there are some who think different. Not sure how many, but I always like to keep the info out there.
