here is Johnny Cash's cover of Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nail's "Hurt". i believe it was in tribute to his wife, sadly after she passed away. less than four months later, cash also passed away.
interesting fact: he was arrested in 1966 in starkville, ms for illegally trespassing to pick flowers

for Johnny Cash. My favorite Cash songs- When the man comes around, and One peice at a time.
I bought the last johnny cash album and it has the dvd of this music video on it. Great song and video.
Thats a great sing the original by nin isn't as good. I actuaaly don't think too many poeple liked it, but when Johnny Cash remade it, its an instant hit. I don't get too emotional and I don't cry its just not something I do but when I first saw that video and how he put it across it brought a tear to my eye to think about what he is singing about. He was one of the greatest artist that will be. I have a couple of his cd's, unfortunetly I was able to go see the movie but I'll end up buying the dvd when it comes out, I wont even bother renting it, just straight to buy.

His wife and her family are from here(10 minutes down the road). The Carter Family place is still there and is as it has been for years called Carter's Fold. Every weekend to this day they have concerts from local bands and artist. Mr. Cash owned a house till his death out on the farm out there. When his wife passed locally it was as if a family member were taken from everyone. The Carters and Cash were familar people around here and allways respected and allways will be.
Johny Cash lived a very tough life which I feel he instilled alot of that in this video. He was a great man and his wife was the reakoning force behind him and when she passed everybody knew in thier hearts that he would not be long after.
