B18C1=180whp
How can I get my B18C1 up to 175-180whp? I already have intake, exhaust, pulleys, and an intake manifold. I don't want any more power than that bc i dont wanna spend too much. I'm trying to keep my limit at $1000-$1500.
gonna need more money than that unless you got a really good hook up. your gonna need some more aggressive cams which you'll need higher compression to work well, meaning changing your pistons and or head gasket. plus changing your valve train to safely rev higher than you do now. maybe a port and polish and most of all a really good tuner!

cams would most likely be the next step. skunk2 stage 1 or stage 2. if u go with the stage 2 then upgrade the entire valvetrain so the head can handle it
no offense
but i dont think it will take more than 2k to hit 180whp
they make about 142whp stock. 180whp would take roughly 2k give or take 200 bucks. depends on who you know and if you can do stuff yourself. you can. but how much doe cams, tuning, and the headwork cost to add almost 35ish whp if you pay everybody to do everything. he already has an intake and exhaust so obviously that is already subtracted out of the equation. you could do it for under 2k if you ebay some of the less important stuff and buy used parts.

a b20 bottom end with 11.5:1 pistons would do the trick. b20's can be had cheap. you can resize the oem rods for arp rod bolts. rs machines sells excellent cast pistons that would work with the oem rods. if you can find a clean block and just hone it to keep it 84mm it would be ideal.
on a similar setup we made 209whp with an ITR intake cam. the car went 12.4@109mph on slicks with an EF hatch chassis.
^^ tuning tuning tuning. either way the money spent for power gained is disappointing. just get a k20a2 swap

big power, 4cyl, FWD street cars serve no purpose, for real street racing (not the rolling bullcrap you see in videos), other than giving the ego its fix.
my car is running stock cams with a big block h23 and i'm already pissed how easily it spins the tires and i havent gone above half throttle or 4000 rpm.
