which b20? B20b? or B20z? B20Z has more comprassion than B20B.
B20b 8:8.1
B20z 9:6.1
Also depens on what head gasket ? and mild head.
I have same engine.Just a differnts ITR cams.I used 2layer Cometic HG.Milled Head about 0,030... Compression about 10:6.1 now.I think minimum 200hp. max 215hp.

I think that your biggest issue is that you have a head and cams that are built for high-rpm performance, but you have a low-rpm block. Do you have access to a dyno? What do you have your redline set at? Do you have any tools to tune your setup?

yes we do have dynos in here. the we used chrome in tuning the engine. what will i do to increase the compression??? but i dont want to compromise the stability of the motor:

get a girdle in some race bearings and you can push it a little higher in the RPM range i have a friend who has a b20 with forged internals with b16 head with itr valvetrain with a girdle and race bearings and hes revvin 9 so

The rpms should be set to match what the block is capable of. Was the block built to handle the higher rpms?

This engine is waiting for death. You should have asked these questions BEFORE building it, installing it, and getting it tuned. Asking what SHOULD I have done won't help you much, unless you aren't opposed to removing the engine to properly prepare it for what you are doing with it.
8200rpm is already unsafe for that bottom end, if it's stock. It's generally accepted that replacing stock rod bolts with ARP bolts is the bare minimum, which requires removal of the rods/pistons, pressing out old bolts & pressing in new ones, and rehoning the large bores to ensure roundness afterwards. This would be a great time to replace pistons since they are already out, you can get cast high compression 84mm units with rings for $200 now. Also highly suggested is installing VTEC oil pump & water pump.
B16B cams and ITR head are good to 8400 rpms or slightly past, if your bottom end is stock it is getting dangerous anywhere past 7000 rpms.

Well, since he did use CTR cams it doesn't really matter.
But for the sake of argument, maybe someone picked up a bare ITR head (which happens alot since people part out the cams & valvetrain all the time) and just wanted to get their engine up and running with a cheap $50 set of cams or some old ones they had sitting around.
