buy another b18, b20 block and build it. I wouldn't destroy the block you already have if your going to do all that.
The usefulness of your cams will depend a lot on the turbo manifold (ie. big cams and log manifolds don't mix so well) and turbo size selection. I say...get a really nice quality kit...and after tuning if it looks like smaller cams would be better then switch.
I wouldn't go through all this trouble to only make 300-350whp.
well im looking for 350-400 for daily driving. but at like pir or something i wanna be able to turn up the boost to like 25 lbs and smoke anything i line up to.
Honestly if you are looking for streetable big hp, and are worried about starting over again with large money investment, find a deal on a B16 block. They are cheap and fantastic for turbo power. As was mentioned 300whp is no problem on stock block but if you want more you can do all the usual tricks like sleeving. And the blocks are silly cheap to buy.
The short stroke makes lower torque but that is a good thing when you are talking about a FWD street car with 400hp. The good rod/stroke ratio improves high rpm combustion efficiency and makes tuning with pump gas easier. There are alot of tuners and joe-schmoes who have tried both and prefer the B16 on boost.
was up guys..... i just ran my car in quarte mile race and it timed 14.1 sec.its got 190hp on wheels. back here in our country b18/b20 turbo w/ stock internals low boost has 300-350 hp on wheels. 12.15 in a quatermile
