I am getting a 92 civic hb from my brother, i dont know crap about this car or hondas in general. From what he told me the car has a 98 b20 block with b16 v-tec heads, si cam, and si throttle body, a gsr oil pump, gsr tranny, light weight under drive pulleys, 500 hp nonslip race clutch, short throw shifter, race exhaust, and high flow intake manifold, he also told me it has high compression and a turbo would blow it and to be prepared to buy tires cause it dont hook up. He said theres more but i didnt much get or understand what he was talking about. MY QUESTION is does anyone have any idea what kind of horsepower and torque im looking at and if id hurt this engine if i put a small shot of nitrous on it say like a 50 shot just to have it on days i took it to the track like once a month. Im not looking to spray always just when needed.
it dont have a turbo all my friends cars do they all got talons and srt4s and are telling me to put a turbo on it but i was told the b20 cant handle a turbo well, and with the high compression itll blow the engine. and he claims when he ran it at the track it spun through all gears, he said its worse on the street its got street tires not slicks. Its gutted no ac,ps, carpet, backseat he wanted it to be as light as possible and be all motor.

k. I misunderstood your first post. You need to find out what the compression ratio is. Also, I don't think that I would want a turbo'ed 2.0L motor if this is a street car.
If I were to guess and I probably shouldn't...it probably has anywhere from 180-210HP. Could be putting down like 150 torque..only the dyno can tell you. If it actually has "high compression" that would probably mean the pistons have been swapped out and if that the case the cam and throttle body are the only things holding it back from from 230-250hp. Given that it's been properly tuned.
There is a large probability that you could damage the engine if you add nitrous unless it's properly tuned. This is mostly because of the "high compression".
I would be willing to bet this person knew something about honda's when they put this together...so it's probably decently quick. So I wouldn't worry about what the DSM and neon boys think for now.
B20's can handle a turbo but just as stated before thin cylinder walls..+ the high compression (that you say it has) will cause some issues...not that you can't fix those issues, but you probably don't' need to.
If I were you I'd start by fixing suspension/chassis problems so it will hook and launch properly, then try to get more power with cams. If that's not enough add and tune with nitrous. And finally if that's not enough power get another motor fully built and boosted...but as a first time honda enthusiast that really isn't' necessary.
I could be all wrong..but I can only go with the specifics you've posted.
