p28 can be w/e you want it to be used for when its chipped out..
p28 just controls the vtec as well you can use any ecu that has vtec, chip it out, and put it on any motor u want to tune.. you can use a p72, p30 or p28..

Eventually I'll have to get a stronger tranny and newer pistons though. Its a work in progress for an application that is seldom done. Its going to be interesting!

The EM1 Si came in an automatic. So why couldn't you use an ecu from one of those?

Forgive my ignorance, but I have never heard of the EM1 Si Civic. I thought all Civic Si's were manual. In any case, using the Vtec controller is much easier - but I will look what you're saying up. Can that ECU be chipped?

EM1 was the USDM 99-2000 Civic Si. They were available in an automatic. Very rare though. And yes it can be chipped from what I understand.

All though I give you props for trying this i hate to be the carier of bad news. You CAN'T use the vafc to engauge vtec while using a non vtec ecu. All though the vafc controls the vtec signal it still looks for it from the ecu. It reads the oil pressure sending unit, throttle and rpm signal from ecu also. All though this is a good idea you will need to find your self a P28. P28's come out of 92-95 civic ex an SI and did come in auto. With this ecu and vafc you can make your idea work. I come from both worlds of B an D and I do incourage you swap. GL

Umm sorry to break it to you, but the 1994 Civic Si was a Bubble and it has none other than a D16Z6 which is a Single Cam Engine. I can tell you that cuz I had that same motor and it was real peppy for being a single, but now changed it for a B16A. haha SOHC Si to DOHC Si Great

When you use a P28 with a H-series its used in a civic and chipped for the H-series. (P28 with P13 map). You also can convert a NON-vtec ECU to Vtec.Just convert the thing to a 5-speed.
