CTR B16b advice needed..

Hey guys i'm new here and i need some advice..

My ride is a 92-95 JDM civic SIR hatch..
I recently swapped out the oem B16a engine for a CTR (civic type R) B16b, i plan on staying N/A for awhile so i was wondering if you guys can advise me on what mods i can do & in what order to really make this 16b kick ar$$

Here are some after market parts that i have access to:

Stage 3 Crower cams.
Injen CAI.
AEM True Time Adj. cam gears.
Skunk2 spring & retainer kit.
B&M adj. fuel pressure regulator.
Cometic head gasket (thinner than stock .027 which would push CR to 11.0).
Light weight crank pully.
Act clutch kit (street & strip)
MSD SS external blaster coil & cap.
Magnacore plug wires.

These are not installed yet but soon will be... anything else i need for my monster build...

Sounds like you have most everything covered, you could also add an intake manifold and throttle body also. Or if you have some extra change go all out with some individual throttle bodies.

But from reading up on the topics in the ITB forum, they are saying that ITB's are generally for full race applications not daily driven...

I'm thinking of getting a DC sports 4-2-1 ss header or will it be better to go with the 4-1..
Not sure what brand & diameter of exhaust to go with....

if you want to make power i would suggest a quality header from the likes of hytech, smsp, or rmf. they each have a header in the $600-800 range that will blow any dc piece out of the water. if you cant afford that, a jdm itr 4-1 would be a decent alternative. and with a matching 2.5" cat and exhaust.

For some reason I've been seeing alot of noob's on here listing big lists of bolt-ons that they have or are getting and i'm beginning to think some are full of shit. not neccesarily this one but every one of the posts tend to have the same basic mods that i wish i had when i started such as;light weight pully's and msd ignition and an intake. but my question is that if you have a real "jdm sir" with a b16b (one of the most expensive motors out there for a swap) and you have all this stuff "Ready to go in" I figure that you would have a good bit of knowledge of a honda engine and how each mod affects the motor etc..... I know from alittle experience that to do a swap and add mods to your car you will already have to have a good chip of knowledge about all that has to do with a honda motor. I just want to know if you are pulling our leg or not.

all i really want is to see a pic of your SiR and the motor

Dont worry bro i'm not bull sh!tt!ng you, and remember i said i have access to these parts not have them in my possession...

Believe me i'v done alot of reading and have a fair idea of what gains to expect with each mod, but instead of just running out there and buying stuff (prices for performance parts down here will kill you, our currency conversion is $6.TT to $1 US.. think about that).. 6 times what you guys pay + shipping.

I was just trying to get some info/advice from you guys who done this before you know tried and tested.. daz all.

As for the pic i'm working on it and that part you said about this engine being (one of the most expensive motors out there for a swap) not really..
I'm from the Caribbean so we get most of our engines direct from japan, which is a hell of alot cheaper than buying it from the US..

eg.. i paid $12,000.00 TT = $2000.00 US..

engine, 5spd gear box, harness and ecu..

bisimoto or lovefab header. Both high quality works of art and functionality. An intake manifold would be nice as well, and how about a short shifter.

The stock ctr mani isnt bad at all. I'd spend the money other places for more gains first.

I have a '96 Hatch with a B16B swap. I've got a full custom made 2.5" exhaust, high flow cat.

I want to go with the Jun Stage 2 cams. With the ek9 JDM ECU and a VAFC2 and adjustable cam gears. Will I be able to get a good tune and a sweet idle?

You get those cams valvesprins/retainers are a must. I recommend Supertech. They are extremely well made and cheap. They are exclusivly used by Tom the owner of Portflow here is California. Portflow is one of the best head builders in the world. With supertech you can run pretty much ANY cam up to stage 4 except for crazy big custom made ones.
