Good Cam for Torque on B16??

I've got a 2000 Civic Si and I want alittle more torque. And I don't want to F/I my car since I'll have my M3 back up and running with an LS1 in about 4 months. So I'm just looking for a somewhat cheap way to get some more hp/tq out of my Si until then.

What is the best cam out there to get a really decent TQ increase for my B16?

Thanks in advance guys!

Well, if it's a stock block B16A, I'd recommend looking into some BC3+ cams. Mind you, they aren't gonna be crazy fast cams, but on a relatively low compression setup (under 11.5:1), they will respond well. They are a little more aggresive compared to CTR cams.

Where can I get a set of some BC3+ cams, and will they require any other valvetrain modifications?

The BC3+'s are better known as "Buddy Club Spec 3+" cams.

There are a lot of people out there that will say that they have used those cams with stock b16a valvetrain for years, but that is all on you if you wish to do that. I would recommend as a minimum to run with the Port Flow inners with ITR outters if you're on a tight budget.

The cams are about 450-550 new. You can usually find them in the classifieds for less from people that have decided to go with more aggressive cams for their 1.8 or 2.0 liter engines.

On my setup, they make peak power right around 7600-8000 RPM. Slightly more aggressive profile then the CTR cams.

They are rated as being effective up to 12.5:1 compression, but even on a stock block B18C1 with a 10:1 compression ratio, they are known to help from 7-10 whp within the stock power band, dependent upon how well they are tuned. That's on the same dyno I got tuned on by the same tuner that did my car.

The Buddy Club Spec 4's you definately want the higher compression ratio and upgraded valvetrain.

Even with the 3's though, I don't recommend running stock non-R valvetrain.

lol.. bcIII+'s are garbage.. no more bigger then 01 itr cams.. people run that shit on stock valvetrain..
Bigger cams wont make your b16 more torquey.. You have to get things that will help be more torquey..
a hytech replica header is one thing i'd look into as well as a good 2.5+ exhaust.. cams? you can make power with any cam you put into your b16.. you can put pro3's in there if u want and u'll make power.. not as much as you should or where you should, but youll make power.. Get what i'm saying? Get the cam and setup thats right for you.. no need to rev out to 11k to make the most power..
stick to ITR cams.. they're pratically the same shit as bcIII+s..thats why everyone loves them because they're like itr cams..which give huge jumps in whp in b16's and gsrs.. get u a good vstack setup, good exhaust setup.. possible look into a newer manifold and some itr cams.. you'll be set.
