Which intake??

I've researched and i'm down to two choices. Comptech air intake and icebox, or the Apexi intake. I heard the apexi intake is awsome, produced good power, and filters very well, but it's not CAI (to my knowledge). The Comptech looks stock, from what i've been told performs great, and It is cold air. So does anyone have any input/pictures of the Apexi intake?? Or the Comptech??? The car is a 99 civic with a b16a2, fwi, Please feel free to PM me with pictures, or post them on this thread. Thanks

What year car and what motor? biggest questions that come to mind B-series all motor...3" ITR intake makes the most power from AEM the FIRST VERSION from everything I've seen.

The comtech intake has a 3" pipe(least i beleave so). But i was looking at the reviews, http://www.tprmag.com/issue/1/1_intakes.shtml . And it looks like short rams were making more power. So I was just thinking about getting the Apexi instead of the Comptech. But I really would like to get the comptech. Does anyone ahve any experience with these? I may end up gettin the Apexi first, and then gettin the Comptech and Icebox, and using the Apexi filter. Because that Filter is da poop. Let me know what if you were in my shoes, what you would Do.
Thanks

I'm running a 3" AEM CAI (Type R application) with the A'pexi filter on my LS and I love it. The A'pexi filter has extremely good reviews. Not familiar with their intake though.

Make sure to look at more than just peak numbers. Short rams typically have more high-end gains which means a higher peak hp number and usually better drag times, while CAIs tend to have more midrange which helps out more for daily driving, auto-x, etc.

Ya, you have a b18 already thoguh. I don't want to get the type r intake, and i have to gyro-rig something. I would rather do it right the first time. I was thinking doing the apexi (basicaly filter and a metal pipe) but for the time, i may just get the shortram Comptech, and buy the icebox later down the road.

tpr showed that the injen rd cold air to make second best hp with the comptech just alittle better

unless you have money to burn i would go with the lighter simpler injen rd intake

if you have the money though try looking at j's carbon fiber short ram it is a surge tank design

if carb is of no concern to you, just get a cheap 3" intake, put a prototype racing or BPi velocity stack on it, stick a k&n filter on that, and call it done. cheaper than brand name intakes and will make better power.
