I'm trying to keep it simple and cheap, so don't go suggesting I get a $1000 header or something like that, plus its gonna be my daily driver so it has to be durable.
Why are you going with the Blox setup? They can make alright power, but they are kind of the black sheep in the parts world.

The blox are replicas of the standard (old) skunk2 parts. The "Pro" series skunk2 parts are more potentent. I suggest considering those if you want to definately get to the 170 whp. They will cost more though. As for the ECU, go with something tunable rather than just some generic chip. Chrome or Hondata at the least.

LMFAO the most ignorent statement made..
you do realize blox = skunk in a bag really right?? blox's owner is infact the old owner of skunk2, the a/b/c = stage 1/2/3 of the regular skunk2 cams..then they have the HLS which is blox's version of the pro series..
blox is a good cam, if i didn't find my s2s2's for 350 new, i would have def went with the blox b's for my R.

wrong again..
he has more then enough to break the 170 mark if not more,
Getting a good all around tuner on crome pro or hondata, will yield you your power..your biggest mod and power gainner will be infact, degreeing in those cams / tuning your fuel / igition maps.. i think you have a very soild setup.

Thanks :w00t
with this list like i said above you should be fine..in all honest bro.. i highly suggest u consider gassing this motor, a 50 shot will break 200whp for you and will keep you happy for quite sometime...look into getting a bigger TB, upgrading to a Type-r or goin to a 62 - 65mm TB..you running any type of intake system on your car? SRI or CAI? simple a cheap is reading pgmfi.org on how to get a better tune out of your car..
a 170whp is nice..for a very simple build but with what you got, in your head, u should be aiming for 190+..

fact is, can he install them himself, finding a set of ctr or itr pistons isn't hard, 150-200 max, however the labor for putting those puppies in is a whole new ballgame..if u can install them urself, then game over get that shit.

the random 170hp is just a figure i came up with because I don't wanna spend all my money on this car and it seemed fairly attainable... I'm never gonna dragrace it.
Here is what I love:
1.Going around corners fast
2.Being pushed ito the back of my seat by acceleration
3.Hearing the sound of vtec screaming at 8000+ rpm
So... I guess what I want is a well put together street car, that runs strong, is dependable and easy to live with.
I'm not trying to go for the most extreme tune... that isn't going to be dependable
BTW... doesn't the JDM B16a2 already have a decent compression ratio?
