Spoonhatch2001 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
they pu down to the wheels at like 175whp torque is at about 140 depwnding on car its in ive seen low to high 13s. on street tires. the best thing about the k series is the head in stock form out flows a b series head that has been ported to the max. and just like any honda motor you can do anything withe it. the only bad about the k series is cost and the trans the dont hold up to abuse very well in like the b series trans.

Thumbs up k20 all the way

My good friend has a honda challenge eg and i know that sounds like it has a lot of work done to it but it dosen't. He has a 93 eg with the jdm k20a motor with just i/h/e and a hondata k-pro and a few tuning tricks from a buddy and put down 217 at the wheels and ran a 13.13 at rockingham motor speedway.

k20

i have to disagree with what spoonhatch2001 because the b series tranny's don't hold up for crap compared to a 6 speed k20 tranny
the next few east coast honda challenge races left should prove him wrong

k series all the way

well as for the tranny thing i think the B is stronger...i never had a problem...fuck i lied i did hafta rebuild mine, but ls ones are strong. If its a Kseries trans from Japan then ur ok, but if its from the Us then be careful. The 04' and up models the transmissions are built by GM and not Honda and there are a lot of civic recalls for 2nd gear. Doesn't get fluid and stains blue and warps.
