Looking for more from R-Series? - Honda Forum / Acura Forum

I have purchased almost everything i can for my R18A1 and am looking for those "Engine/ECU" guru's here to help me out?

So far i have got:
- CAI
- 2.25" exhaust system w/glasspack & axleback muffler
- Downpipe section (MeganRacing version does not remove CAT)
- Grounding kit (Custom using 4G monster cable)

My plans eventually down the road are to boost it via S/C kit but for now
im looking for anything to enhance the performance using N/A specs till i do so.

Hondata doesnt have any reflash, as far as i know there are no chips avail yet so.....what route should i run?

anyhthing is appreciated!

you're SOL. i've yet to hear of anything for that engine in the form of an ems.

somone has to come out with atleast a Camshaft?

Have it tuned on a dyno with an SAFC.

Its better than nothing.

there isnt a huge performance aftermarket for that engine

if that is so then explain why there is this...
R-Series Parts Guide:

now i know the K20 has more aftermarket support right now but
the list for the R-Series is pretty extensive so far. Id just like to
see more out of this engine as im sure alot of others would too!

it's all bolt on's aka shit you'll never notice except an increase in sound. i thought you meant stuff that actually made power.

R18 stock was average, with the CAI, exhaust, downpipe, etc has made a dramatic change in performance. Now i realize a CAM, Reflash, etc would jump this car into action

On a serious note... HondaTuning did an article a while back on the R18 engine. And I think the shop was Castillo Crankshaft that broke it down. They later on confirmed that is was an Economy Engine and was not built for performance. Good Luck on that R18 bud. Your best bet is to trade it in for an SI.

Yeah and my throttle body spacer made 14whp.

Dont make horsepower claims unless you have a dyno chart to prove it. This is the internet- full of liars and child molesters. You cant take anyones word, ESPECIALLY if theyre making bogus horsepower claims.
