Question Rebuild for N/A or buy Vtec

Ok well it has been a Very long time being on this site, so i will just list what i have. It is a 1996 b18b1 with AEM tru time cam gears, was bough this way out of a wrecked integra for $500 running with S80 tranny, it ran great besides smoking, but it also started to form a knocking after about a month of drivingi had told my brother the one using it to get back and forth from work and school to not drive it anymore, we may beable to fix it, wellhe never listened. From his story no idea if it is true or not, but he was driving down mainstreet in town and it locks up on him, also in the same instance he pushed in the clutch and then dropped the clutch so what he said was to break the motor free *Total dick shit* if you ask me. but he got to our familes diner and parks it. i got a ride into town and started car up it ran for 25-35 sec clunkin every 2-5 sec, then locked up, won't turn over at all now. not with starter or even with a ratchet on the crank.

So without even knowing the damages but knowing that the motor is locked up what should i do. i have a budget of $2500-3500 i was thinking of getting a b18c1 instead of rebuilding the b1, a b18c1 swap is normally 2500 so i would have a grand to play around with, let me know what you guys think i can do with 2500-3500 on a blown up b18b1, and then what i could do with a b18c1 for the same money buying the swap in the price. I dont take my cars to shops so all the money will go into parts, and special tools if needed. Thanks Let Me Know...

I'd go with the b18c1 swap. Then, i'd smack your brother around for breaking the car.
