As the topic says just got some oem honda civic type r pistons. I am putting them in the car that is in the sig. The motor has very bad compression like 90 in number 1 cylinder so i am doing a rebuild. I was reving to 9500 every once in a while so i am mico polishing and resurfacing the crank and i am getting new main and rod bearings. I got the pistons .25mm oversize so i am boring and honing the cylinders to match. I also got a new gasket kit and a new type r oil pump. I also am changing the seals in the head as well as the new lifters(mine are still good they just came with the kit i might not). I am resurfaciing the flywheel and changing from a 6-puck to a new 4-puck. the tranny only has 16000 miles on it since i rebuilt it it shifts pretty clean so thats good. My head was never milled just resurfaced i am not sure how much so i am concerned about clearances-the piston hiting the valves with the stage 2 cams. i am planning on claying the motor to double check it. This is my basic plan. I'll post pics as i desassemble and reassemble the engine
Does anyone have suggestions?? All responses welcome. Thanks in advance

I am looking for over 12:1 the ecu is tuned right now for skunk2 stage 2 cams, compression of 12.0-13:1 or so. I was running it before this rebuild with a stock GSR bottom end with 10:1 or so if not less with the rings going. It was still pulling but you could notice the difference and it was burning oil like crazy. I hope after the rebuild it will really pull.
As for the head gasket I was going with OEM Honda like the Pistons, Bearing, and rings. If you have suggestions I am all ears. Thanks

yea if its buring oil that will be thr rings goin. how many miles do you have on those rings? ctr pistons will put you close to 13 that wouldnt be great for a daily driver.you should look at getting p30 pistons with a think head gasket flat vavles you will be around 12:1

This car will not be a daily driver. I am going to have it tuned with a wideband when it first starts. If race gas is what she needs thats what she will get. If it becomes a hasle ill get the b16 ones and rebuild it again.
