rocker arms

i was wondering if anyone has had a problem putting brand new cams on used rocker arms. i was thinking that the rocker arms may have some weird wear patterns on them.......do people usually replace these when they upgrade cams??.........maybe a good polishing with emery cloth would do the trick

As long as the rockers do not appear damaged, there is nothing to worry about and I would not recommend trying to polish them.
