Insight rims

How come like no website offers new rims for the Insight?

I really don't know why. Maybe cus its a hybrid car. Plus who wants to put rims on a insight. I think maybe the bigger rims would effect fuel economy. Other than that i don't know. Don't flame my ass cus thats the only thing i could wonder why they wouldn't offer rims. Does anybody have another theory, if so please tell!!

ive seen a hooked up insight, at home depot. it had some chrome rims, and ghost flames and tinted windows and a muffler. and instead of "insight" on the back, it said "outtasight"

. That is awesome. I never thought anyone would "hook up" an insight. I wonder what it sounded like when it took off????

Probably pretty quiet since it would take off on electric power.

The Insight is not a "full" hybrid so it never runs on just the electric motor.

I thought they took off on electric and then the engine kicked in. But, to be fare, I haven't put much research into hybrids.

That's how a "full hybrid" like the Prius or Escape Hybrid work. The Accord/Civic/Insight are not full hybrids so the electric motor only works in tandem with the gas engine when hard acceleration is needed. The gas engine also stops running at a stop but as soon as you step on the gas the electric engine fires up the gas one and the gas engine does the work. They never move under only electric power.

Just to clarify no car available on the market to the public is a "full" hybrid. The Toyotas and the Ford Escape is a combination Hybrid. An example of a "full" Hybrid is a locomotive or a cruise ship or something where the diesel engines only charge the batteries for the electric motors to propel the train or boat. The diesel engines do not directly propel the vehicle.
