1st Gen Love (85 DX)

OK boys after i totaled my beautiful old rex (RIP), i was able to get my hands on

a very good condition 1st gen CRX, an 1985 DX. The Interior is perfect!!! There

is no rust, or any other major body damage. It only has 185,xxx miles . And

best of all its been kept up pretty good and 100% stock. Now the only bad of

this car is: front part of hood is missing, (easy to replace), the right side of the

fender has a small piece missing and is a bit cracked so that needs to be

replaced. Here are the pics:

Now my plans:

1. rims/tires
2. Suspension/brakes (probably teg discs)
3. Exterior (keep totally stock except for cf hood, and mabye a lip)
4. Interior, nothing. . lol its soo nice (actually i'll just replace the steering wheel)
5. Engine: ok this is the hardest part, it has a carb engine so i gota swap out the whole fuel system and everything, going in will be a D16a1, mildly built hopefully to make about around 130whp.
6. Now if i ever make it this far i may put my rex on boost , keep the turbo smaller for faster spool and go to about 200whp. . . . it will be quick!

Wow talk about a perfect REX.
How much did that beast of a car set you back?
And I like the plan, seems pretty good to me.

lol, thanks for the response j_valentin but its not beautiful yet, it needs a bit of

work before it becomes beautiful, IMO. Now the best part of this is that i got

the car for 800bucks

I'm really considering using it for my DD and saving up for an easier car to work

with, cause the 1st gens are harder to work with, have less parts, and the rear

is a strait axle so handling wise it won't be that great. . . and mostly, there as

sooo limited choice of engines to swap in and they all cost a Ton of work....

what do you guys think?

In response to your poll...I'd save up and buy another 2nd gen. So much easier to do things as far as swaps are concerned.

nice find though. I've only seen one first gen that I thought was pretty cool. It had a custom paint job and some nice wheels with a modest drop. Nothing major. It just looked well kept.

you know, i've never really checked out the interior on one of those. those things are badass. personally that would be my dd. then i'd get a second gen as my toy.

id keep it carbed, ive seen a couple quick old lx-i accords that were still carbed, plus it would be totally badass!

Converting to efi? Thats going to be ALOT of work. An Si would be the best way to go. If you want to tackle that go ahead.
