Thumbs up 2nd Gen JDM vs EDM vs USDM Write up!!!

Hello everyone, first off..PLZ STICKY THISS PLZZ!!!

Second. Unfortunately, there are more than 30 images so i can post no more pics. Please click the links anyway if you still wish to see it.

I have done much research and to make life easier for everyone i thought I'd start a thread on the differences of the '88-'91 EDM and JDM CRX's, and I'll even add some USDM stuff. I will say none of this stuff is my own, obviously, i am just putting it all in 1 thread.

So here we go, from the top!!... PLZ feel free to add and comment.

MODELS (Variations)

All CRXs were made in Japan.Even though our CRXs (USDM) were made in Japan, each country/ market
had it's own variations. So the ones for the US were labeled as USDM, the ones for Europe were EDM, Japan was JDM, etc etc etc.

1989 D15B JDM CRX 1.5X SOHC ECU - PM4

1989 D15B JDM CRX 1.5X SOHC ECU - PM4

1990 and onwards had a revised ECU, a 1991 model has an ECU model (37700-PM4-914). The 1990 onwards ecu's seem to run a lot smoother, the Rev Limiter seems less severe as well. However they do seen to have less torque low down the rev range.

1990 D16A6 US CRX 1.6L SOHC ECU - PM6

1989 D16A9 EURO CRX 1.6i-16 DOHC- PM7
1988 ZC JDM CRX SiR DOHC - PM7

1990 ZC JDM PM7

1990 and onwards also had a revised ECU, The revisions mainly effect fueling at low revs. There is a slight lack of torque but the whole rev band is a lot smoother. The rev limiter was also revised, early 88 ECU's had a very servere rev limiter.

that is a very thourough and well informed post. its nice to see people on here that are dedicated to helping everyone else even though they realize they will get critisized for it.

i have just one revision. the glass top is not just a jdm piece. it only came on the cyber crx and is extremely rare. finding one is a once in a blue moon thing and even if you do you will pay a grand or more just to get one

Well folks, my work here is done. With the addition of "WANT THAT JDM LOOK" I have maxed out in images, as well as characters. So if i find any more info i will unfortunately have to post it elsewhere in the thread. Still STICKY THOUGH!!!(after 12 hours of research and formatting, i mean come on). Feel free to respond to any info.

Aww Yuu no likey. I make long write up so you no sticky.BBBWWWAAAHHHH!!!

So lets just whore this thread out with some other market info or anything related at all.

Ill start..

So the civic VTi is JDM, yet the Vti CRX is EDM. That seems strange. JDM VTI is where the d15b is from, so it is not even like the EDM VTI.
