I want to buy some drag radials and wonder if any of you have exp. with 555Rs or BFGsg-Force T/A. I like the 555Rs and I think they are cheaper. Right now I'm running 185/40/14 on 14in steel. They hook fair but I can only leave the line at about 3500rpm. I spin about 8ft in first and maybe 2 in second. It feels like it is kinda slipping all the way through 1st but I can't complain because the 60' time is pretty good. Any thoughts?
185/40/14 ??? where the heck did you find that tire size? i've been looking for something less than 60 for a 14 for a while and havn't found anything??
I was a fan of Nitto until I lost a race because of them... I am now a die hard Kumho fan... Kumho is priced nice and it's a competition tire that is DOT approved they are hella loud but I like them, they hook up nice. I'd say if you already got Nittos, go for something different and gett the BFGs so you can get some more experience in tires.

Seriously....I don't know if many of you have heard of them....but the Falen Azenis are probably the stickiest tires out there. SCC just did a tire comparison and the Azenis did almost just as well as the drag radials on the strip...plus you can actually turn with the Azenis...unlike the drag radials. Have them on the R...SWEET.

Ya but what’s the cost. I like the Nitto’s because they are fucking cheap. I can speak for the 555’s but the 450’s handle good on the wet roads. For me they hook up nice as long as you don’t drop the clutch to high up.

SCC 2.7 60ft now i dont know wtf they were doin but that kinda sucks ass im using cooper cobra xst and they are sticky as hell 2.1 60 ft on a street tire.....
Heheh, everyone listen to Clock. For some reason the Falken Azenis are really going unnoticed. They are unbelievably sticky, and are great for the street. I auto-x and if I wanted better tires I would have to move up to Kuhmo VRacers or Hoosiers Bias Ply. The Azenis are great, and cheap too.

Sorry about that must have been thinking about the 14 when I typed the 40. They are 185/60/14 I run them at about 18psi and they hook a whole lot better than the 195/50/15 Nitto 450s that I was running on Enkei RSF-2s I wasn't running quite as low of tire pressure with the 450s but a 2.3 was about my best 60' they would spin all the way through first and well into second at the track but they hooked well on the street.
I had Nitto 450's and they sucked. That was on my '85 Hf w/65 hp. I would hate to see what would happen if I ran them on my Si w/ ZC............ I probally would be dead. Get Kumho's or the Azenzis. Just my .02

I think that the Azenis are the best performing tire that I have ever owned. I really did like the Nitto NT450's a lot...mainly because they performed mildly well...but they held up forever. I liked that a lot...becuase buying tires can grow expensive. I went through my Potenza REO10's in 8000 mi....that isn't very good. At 125 a tire...it is really expensive...I get the Azenis for 75 a piece on the car, they last longer than the Potenzas and I think that the handle better.

I have Nitto 555Rs on my car right now and they are sweet. I probably need new tires but don't have the money and don't want to get rid of the Drag Radials. These tires are sweet and they are daily driven on. The only problem you will face is when it rains. There is pretty much no tread on the bastards so if you got too much going to the tires you will feel it. I will look into the Falkens though, even though I have heard bad things about Falken tires in general, but of course every tire company has their top and bottom of the line just like Nitto. So I'm pretty sure that these Falkens will be sweet. Any place that I can look to find these bad boys?
