86-89 teg d16a1 in a first gen???

is it even worth it really or should i just put a ew4 into it ive got 2 first gens on hit in the front and runs and one that doesnt run but has a descent body i can get a a1 cheap but is it worth it???

I personally would, because I am partial to 1st gens anyway; the '86 and '87 teg motors are a direct drop in, while the '88 and '89 require the use of the teg main harness.

i found my old scc and figured out wut i need to use it but im still not sure if i should just use the motor out of my other 86 si

I would say stick with the EW4 just because everyone slaps those fucking ZC teg engines everywhere.

you CAN get an EW4 to be as fast as the D, it's all about tuning! hell I got my last one to 14.2 with not too much! this one I am expecting lower. shit.. I got a time slip someplace, I'll scan it and show you.. but go EW4 if you have to choose between those to.. you'll get more respect, i can tell ya first hand.. people love you when you beat them with a SOHC 1.5L engine, rather than a swap..

the other thing is, most of the parts that are available for the D16 are available for the EW4 also, as long as you act fast. (cams are cheeper, you only gotta buy one!)

that 125$ engine does sound tempting however
