i agree with that. the tuning support and potential differences r really alot when you really get into it plus i love the body style of a 2nd gen rex

omg you first gen haters . . . i saw the thread and decided i've got to say something, even though i'm on a SHO "timeout".

kevind86, don't listen to 91rex-si , he just wishes he had a mk1, anyway, its true that the support is limited, BUT there is support, and you do have some fun options on what to do . . .

1st thing to do is READ!!! go to redpepperracing.com, register and start reading they have enough info on swaps, suspension, brakes etc to keep you busy for a while.

2nd plan the build, and start collecting parts, most of the stuff you will end up buying won't be off random after-market sites, it will be from the members who have the parts, and on some occasions group buys are done to make custom parts for our 1st gens. Or the members themselves will have made something and choose to sell it, or they may know someone who will make parts. In any case if you want good help go to RPR, no one on this forum knows much about 1st gen crx or 3rd gen civics.

Btw my sig has a link to RPR and one of the members build of his 3rd gen civic (also if any of you want a good read on a build check out Kakabox, the guy is a genius)

It will be harder to "tune" and mod your car then the typical civic and crx but it will be worth it IMO. . .

The first-gen is fun, but aftermarket support is admittedly lacking. If you want to build up on a budget, a 2nd-gen would be the way to go. Either that, or you can insert 2nd-gen parts into your first-gen, effectively doing a conversion job.
