86 crx si smoking

Hi All,

I bought an 86 crx si and it has been sitting for about four years. All the owner did was let it run once a week. When I drive it smokes lots. Do you think this will go away as I drive it or is there a major problem?

Thanks

what color is the smoke? if its white its probably burning coolant and then my guess would be that you need a new head gasket.

Btw welcome to SHO, i hope you enjoy your stay, however long/short it will be. Also its nice to have another 1st gen rexer here, lol. If you want good info on your 1st gen crx then go to RPR (check my sig), the website is dedicated to 3g civics and 1st gen crx's.

The smoke is blue/gray. I checked the compression and #1 and 2 have 140 psi and #3and 4 have 150psi not sure what it should be. Pulled the plugs lots of carbon on the plugs. Maybe a head not sure?

Thanks for the info
