87 crx lowering job

i just got an 86 crx and i just took off the front tire thinking i was going to lower it. well there is no damn springs. how the hell do i lowing the damn front end of the car?

um.. you can use the torsion bar adjuster (consult the manual) and lower it about 2 inches that way. the best way however is fairly LONG winded. I should make a tutorila for it eh? hehe well e-mail me if you want one

If you're talking about notching the torsion bar and re-indexing it in the torque tube, then I've already written the HOWTO. It's in the Tech Articles section of

I don't, however, address the need for short-body strut cartridges necessary to regain the appropriate travel. -scott

take the stock struts and grind/cut of the brake cable mount, then sit the strut a little lower in the hub, that should get you the extra 1.5 inches of travel you'll need
