Well, staying until Oct 1st is proving difficult. Time for the admins to step it up a bit.

So I've been entertaining this idea for the last few days and just want to know what you guys think. I'm going to be starting school back up in two weeks which means a 66 mile round trip Mon-Thurs along with a 70 mile round trip commute to work Stat-Mon. Well th Elky doesn't get bad gas mileage (around 28 mpg highway), but it's not really the most lucrative choice (especially with Ohio winter on the horizon). I should be getting a decent sized check from the school in a few weeks (1500; 3-4 weeks). I have been thinking about getting the Elky painted and a set of 'Vette rims (can get the 'Vette rim for 200 for 18's and 17's locally; the paint job was quoted at 1000 again locally at a garage owned by a buddy's mom's boyfriend) and selling it. I should be able to get around 4500-5500 for the Elky once it's painted (I'm the fourth owner, no interior damage at all, no frame rust, 92,xxx, once the body is painted there will be no surface rust)...This will give me enough funds to pay off a 1200 dollar student loan and provide me with a 3000 down payment for a vehicle. I have been shopping around and have found myself drawn between a WRX and an RS. As both are some-what quick, have potential out the wazzoo, get good mpg's, and are all wheel drive (this helps out greatly in the snow department). I was just wondering if you guys had any input on all of this (possible vehicles, Elky pricing, and comment on the two vehicles I have already named).......

PICS of said rims (file photo)

i say sti ftw. im partial to this particular style. i like the style of the headlights, and i know for a fact that these cars can put out 600 awhp easily with minimal money into it. im just not so hot on the four doors. as a matter of fact i fucking hate four doors, but the sti is special in that it outperforms a slew of cars of the floor and with a blow-off and a boost controller you can safely go 15 psi just for shits and giggles

That's why I was looking into a 2001 RS....It has the STI block and it's a two door versus the four door...And I'd probably only e able to afford a WRX no STI unfortunately.

do your research as well. the sti is the ej25 vs. the wrx ej20. im not saying your wrong as im def not up on my sube knowledge like i should be. the ej20 is a potent little 4 banger but the ej25 is a fucking monster as far as tuneable horsies. also i love the sti because of the "defi" built cluster. i would buy a full set of defi bf ambers, could i afford them of course. the full sweep and blacked out face just makes my dick hard, im sorry it just does

Oh I think you misunderstood...The 2.0 is the WRX engine which is a great engine. But I was referring to the 2.5RS which I sort of have a hard on for....I was just saying that the RS and WRX would be the only models I could afford. I wouldn't mind either one really but something just makes the two door that much sexier.

2.5RS Coupe
