I heard of a guy that lives near by that supposedly has Type R stuff in his ZC. Is this possible? something about rods, pistons intake and a few others. I heard the place that build his engine guarantees 14.2 or better. He has a Civic DX automatic. I'm sorry but I personally don't see an automatic Civic ever doing a 14.2 with a NA ZC. To make a ZC run 14.2 with a 5 speed you'd lose all your low end so hooked to an automatic that would have to be really bad. Any thoughts on this will Type R stuff somehow bolt onto a ZC. As far as I know D series to D series and B to B. Thanks.
He is probably full of shit. Nothing, besides maybe the throttle body from a LS is a straight forward swap. I have heard of people using LS rods after some machining and notching the block, so it might be possible to use the rods, but I doubt he did.

Best time ive ever seen on a stock ZC is 14.8, now add all the type R stuff if it actually works, and you are looking at 13's or so. The ZC is a very good motor, has potential to make good hp throughout the entir rpm range so adding an auto to the picture reallyshouldnt hurt it all that much as long as the trans has some sort of shift kit(do they even make those for hondas....maybe) anyway all things are possible w/ money.
only thing b-series i know that could be used are the ls rods. and damn...i jes barely read the automatic part. maybe if he had a performance built atx tranny w/ NOS or forced induction....then i could see it in the low 14's

auto doesn't make much diff... I used to drive my CRX as an auto (I just converted it to 5-speed!) and it shifted hella fast.. you tighten the kick down cable hella tight so that it holds first for DAYS and then just hold the fucker in second... I could usually cold second to 75mph.. then hold it in third til the end of the 1/4 not that hard and it shifts faster without having to let off for the clutch.
Mods: AEM Cold Air, AEM Fuel Rail, AEM FPR, Spoon 4-1 Stainless Header, Spoon Test Pipe, Apex-I World Sport Exhaust, Intrax ARS Coil-Overs, Mugen Upper Front and Rear Strut Tower Bars, Benen Rear Lower Tie Bar, Spoon Front Lower Tie Bar, 16" Spoon SW-
won't fit...probably none of the parts...other than some gaskets and stuff like that. Nothing of any value will fit anyway.

B series Cam gears can work for ZC's
Downpipe exhaust section can work for ZC's
Injectors can fit in the ZC fuel rail but will need to be rewired
Most stuff isnt interchangable
Things that might fit..
Plug wires might be close
Throttle Body will have to be modified
Rods will have to be modified
Pistons, well unless you bored the shit out of your stock sleeves, maybe.
Automatic ZC? hah maybe he has a 3200 stall convertor in it with a B&M shift kit? haha, Auto trannys are not to popular with imports. Its pretty known that if you give an Auto Honda tranny any power they burn right up. (especially if running a low 14)
Thanks everybody that confirms I'm not crazy and this shit can't be done. Taking away low end on an automatic setup should make a big difference I guess not as bad on hondas but I had a toyota I did a build up just for the hell of it, take off decrease by a few seconds but once it got running it was damn fast. Pissed me off so bad I put a stock engine bad in it. So I don't see any automatic NA buildups having a very good launch.
