Clutch job 1991 CRX

What's up guys, this is my first post. I recently bought a '91 CRX, the problem is the clutch has gone out. My question is, how hard is it to do a clutch job, what tools etc. do you need?? How different is it from a rear wheel drive car?? Do you absolutely have to pull the motor??

Keep in mind I have never owned or worked on a honda of any kind, but I had a 1979 Z28 that I took the transmission out of and put back in, along with basicly rebuilding the motor. I'm not a machanic, but I do know my way around a car.

Any input will be most appreciated.

By the way, glad to be here.

If you are new to Honda's then I would strongly suggest picking up a Helms manual at most any local auto parts store they certainly will help a lot. As far as the specifics search within this thread for process as well as feedback on different brands.

Thanks man, I'll def. get that manual. I've been trying to search but it;s not working out too well. It's not pulling anything up at all. All I really want to know is can you do this swap without pulling the motor, or does the motor have to come out.

Also, I know the motor is NOT the stock on e that came on the car (91 SI), how do I tell which clutch I need, they are all over ebay, but I need to know which one to buy.

HELP

Tenacious Z is an unknown quantity at this point
how is anyone supposed to help you with finding the right clutch when you don't even know what engine/transmission you have in your car. Pop the hood and figure some sh*t out, then come back

Holy Shit, people do post here. I ordered the clutch yesterday off ebay. I was referrring to my first question of do you have to pull the motor out, OR can you do it with the motor still in. I'm not trying to be a smart ass or start trouble, I would just like to have a few answers from the people that know about these cars. Not just 34 views.

By the way, turns out it IS the stock motor, it's just been rebuilt

you don't have to pull the motor to swap the clutch you will have to un-bolt the ranny and the rear mount take the axles off then just lower the motor down far enough to pull the tranny swap out the clutch you will need to get the flywheel resurfaced then enstall new clutch bolt up the tranny and raise the motor up with a jack then bolt up the mounts and installl your fluid and your done.
