CRX 2.0
I picked up another rex this weekend, I'm calling it CRX2.0
It was lowered too much, had a cut-up interior, is a dpfi DX, had a dead battery, and needed some serious love with the wiring under the hood.
However, there isn't a spot of rust on the frame, and it hasn't seen an accident that the fenders didn't soak up. This makes it a perfect candidate for my 2.0l swap (that's part of where the CRX2.0 name came from). I'm planning a flat black spray-bomb this weekend, if I can find time.
I'm taking opinions on suspension parts, and am in the market for a d16a6 (or similar) intake manifold to replace the idiotic dpfi manifold (I have a d16y7 head to toss on this until I do the super-swap).
Let me know what you kids think.

It's red. How could it look worse? Flat or satin black is about the best paint job you can do. I could get a spraygun and do satin correctly, but who gives a flying fuck about looks? Seriously.
To give you a basis of comparison, this is my old rex. I consider it to be finished:
Fuck pretty cars. I am not into show cars; I'm not into super-low madd-blingin wagon-wheeled pieces of shit. I'm putting 15x9 rims on this, some 245 or 275-series tires, and possibly a single-color paint job...
maybe. Flat black is about the best thing that could happen to this car. Red is about the worst.

ok for one. flat black is the sexiest color you could put on a rex, mostly because if you see that car sitting at a light and its clean as shit with a flat rattle black, and u still catch a glare from him that says "try me". your gonna flash all sorts of things through your mind trying to think of what he has that would make him so cocky since apparently its not his looks. a rattle can job accomplishes the goal of all business, no play.
I say flat black rattle that bitch and cheers for not giving in to the gloss revolution

i looked though the your gallery drumming, and i may be the only one, but i kinda like the red color (flame suit: ON) you can't really tell whats up with that car with that color, the flat black just will make you look aggressive, compared to the red which is more sleeper status . at least thats what i think with my mk1. Also are you going to keep this thread updated as your project thread? Just wondering.

some people juggle goslings. (if you don't understand, go watch Firefly; you won't be disappointed.)

I plan to spend less and less time on SHO as time goes on. This place really is going to hell this time. The good mods are leaving or have left, the admins don't listen to a word we say, and there are far more useful forums out there where people offer good conversation (there's been an influx of ricers here as of late; again, some people juggle goslings). Also, I have projectcrx to maintain, and it's doing well enough to have that become my primary tracking location.
I like to think that everyone I'll miss here is already at tuner-junction, hybrids.jp, Project CRX, or somewhere else I visit fairly regularly, and if you're not, I suggest getting over to all of them asap. Otherwise, you'll be losing not only my advice but all the others who've already moved on to more ... mature discussion groups. I'll probably post major announcements here, and I'll be visiting from time to time, but this place just sucks now.
If anyone else starts up a wordpress site (they're free, mind you) and wants a little free publicity, feel free to let me know. Tell me what your goals are, where you're located (specific url), and why people will want to read what you have to say, and I'll be sure to give you an honest review.

You have no fucking clue what you're talking about, or who you're talking to. Right now, it's a CRX DX that's been riced out by some fucktard or another. I'm fixing that. Paint is a part of fixing that. Converting to FR with an S2000 engine (you know, the car that's cheaper than your precious m3 and keeps taking it out back and flogging it on the race track?) and putting a structural cage in it to compensate for the force difference that the chassis wasn't designed to withstand (pushing from the back is different from pulling from the front).
We aren't talking about some stock car, or a slightly modded, or even heavily modded. When you're ready to talk about tackling real projects, come see me. Otherwise, get the fuck out of my thread, you haven't said a productive thing since you joined. Since you were so nice to show us a picture of a 'real' engine, here's a video of 'real' results.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=nKFSpXm8-Vg&feature=related
Now strip 750lbs from that s2000, keep what amounts to the same suspension geometry and 50/50 weight balance and the 240hp engine, and make it look not-ugly (crx body).
As for everyone else, thanks for the support. I may not get the rattlecan done until next week (gotta sell the Ford duallie first; it's taking up my paint space), but I'll get to it. And yes, I'm going to finish stripping it first, tape over the windows, and paint each component separately. I'm planning to dry ice the underbody coating too, and re-cover it (right now it's in layers, and that's heavy... I abhor heavy). I should have a little time today to replace the valve cover studs or just throw my new head on. I think I found a lead on a d16a6 intake manifold, which would be pretty stellar. It's $40. I'm going to pick up an Si ecu (Bam, that means you) and throw the fucker together to be my parts gatherer until I'm ready for the 2.0l swap.
