Crx d15 to b18 swap?
ok ... i just bought a 91 crx si and it has a d15 in it and the tranny went out the other night .. and i got a good deal on a b18 ... how much bull shit am i gunna get into with swappin the motor
it's not much different than your standard B-series swap, the only difference is that you will need to convert to MPFi before the swap, but there are companies out there that make the DX-> B series engine harness pre-wired, if you're not inclined to do it yourself

Search this topic and you will find an over-abundant amount of information on this subject.
But i will tell you, you will need axles, a shift linkage, and mounts...among other things...
why don't you just get another d-series tranny, a d16, and spend the rest of the money on suspension and engine work.
I'm sorry but i do like my d-series
How good of a deal on this DOHC are we talking about? Is it a B18b1 or like a B18C5, i tihnk (94+ gsr).
the c5 is the type r motor buddy...c1 is gsr
and what kind of engine work you talking about doing on a d??? the only thing that is going to make a d worth a damn is FI. An all motor d is simply a joke

hey now, I've seen some impressive all-motor D16a6 engines...
Gude makes some nice stuff for N/A D-series, might want to check them out, if D series is your goal.
But when it comes down to it, two cams are better than one.....

I agree 2 cams are better than one. I've done the swap by myself with not much help but are you able to handle a wrench? You'll need to make space for the altenator by hammering in some clearence and figure out a vacum line diagram from the intake manifold of the SOCH to DOHC. You WILL need the the Integra shift linkage ( i think ) and the teggy axles and modified motor mounts. I used a set from Password JDM, I had to Modify (hammer) on the cross member to make it line up right. Also you'll need an engine hoist, you can drop the engine out of the car but this way is much much easier, and atleast a week of downtime. You can do this all yourself, research and check if your obd1 or 2 with the d15 i'm pretty sure the knew engine is obd2 and you i think that changes the wiring, if you have obd2 right now you should be able to use the stock crx wiring harness. I did

turbo
At least get a 1.6 first, then slowly gather the parts for boost. Build the motor up, so the only thing left would be to boost it.

It's not that much different from an SI to B18 swap as stated above. I may have missed this but what model B18 do you have a,b,c1,c5? If you have an a or b you will need the SI wiring harness, hasport shift linkage and motor mounts, pr4 or pm6 ecu (depending on which engine you have), a few small-time engine bay modifications, and half-shafts, along with the dpfi-mpfi swap, and perhaps wiring harness conversions for what obd your engine is. The Vtec engines will require different ecus and conversion harnesses, but besides this they are basically the same as above requiring shift linkage, motor mounts, and slight engine bay modification along with half-shaft(abs or non-abs depending on which transmission you have).
In my opinion, it was well worth putting my B18a back into another Rex, especially since it was a dx and by your engine I would say that this is what you more than likely have (I could be wrong on which d15 you have however).

i am doing this swap as we speak be ready to spend a little cash i am doing a 95 b18 ls motor with gsr tranny act clutch(300) i have bought hasport mounts with hydro tranny conversion now this mean i will have cable shifter with hydro tranny 500.00 for this also i am using a rywire obdo to obd1 conversion harness ready with vtec(if needed) plugs and distributor totally painless(190.00) also shift linkage from integra axles(100) ecu (pm6)(75) motor was cheap(300) tranny was not (700) dont let this discourage you but you should be prepared besides this it is drop in and plug up all painless except a little time hooking up the shift linkage I hope this will help
