hey guys, need some tech help. I have an 88 Si. I have the usual i/h/e mods on it. Well, when I go out to start my car, especially when it's hot outside, it will start fine, then boog down after about 5 seconds, I wait 30 seconds or so, then try her again and it starts just fine and run without problem. when starting it I am waiting for the fuel system to prime, so thats ok. I'm not dreppressing the gas pedal at all. It happens whether my car has no gas, full of fuel and everywhere in between. My ecu is showing a code 1 (O2 sensor maybe?). do know if that is realted, but some of you guys can maye shed some light on that. Thanks.

So it starts up then dies, then you what 30 seconds and it starts up and stays running. Just trying to make sure this is what you mean.

So it never dies when you are driving only when you first start it up.

Well when I first read your post I thought it was the PGM-FI relay , but if it only dies that one time and then is fine it probably isn't but maybe it is. That's a crappy problem because it's not consistent. Good luck.....
